The closer you get to Lucifer, the worse it becomes. [ He bites his lip, looking back at her. ] I wouldn't wish that on anyone with a soul. But humans don't know how to listen. They do whatever they want.
[ Listening to him talk about it gives her this chill. The kind of chill that lets her know there's so much more to it. So much more she doesn't really want to ask about. ]
Sure. Before they end up down there. [ So maybe he's being a jerk, but the idea of free will is still something he's learning to adjust to. ] I don't know you all that well yet, but I wouldn't worry about it. You seem like a good person.
Which religion? [ He makes a face. Where he's from, he actually hasn't considered that particular option. ] It's about your soul. Do you think it's gone bad?
All I'm saying is that the Bible says I'm going to hell cause I'm not a virgin, the Torah says I'm going because I eat Bacon and the Quran says I'm going because you can see my hair.
[ He gives a shrug. The idea of major religions isn't that familiar a concept to him, at least where he's from, but he's generally out of the loop most of the time anyway. ]
Let's see—there's lust, avarice, wrath, heresy, violence. [ He ticks them off on his fingers. Pauses a second and frowns. ] I think I'm missing some. But they're just words, you know. It's what you do when you feel 'em that makes the difference.
Maybe you shouldn't be asking me though. It's, uh, a lot more complicated than that.
Yes and no. [ He sighs. ] I'm not good at explaining this sort of stuff. I didn't make the rules, so I don't have much of a say in 'em. [ And then he pauses, trying to really look at her. ]
What do you think you've done that's bad enough to get you sent to Hell anyway?
