[ confused is definitely a good way to put it, when it comes to what jo is feeling when bells sets the gift in her hand. her first thought is chocolates, of some kind, but then she doesn't really know why he's giving them to her in the first place. she looks up at him, brows knit in that certain way that usually mean she's still confused, as she turns the box over in her hand. ]
Sort of. It's from back home. [ He stops for a second and then rushes through the explanation. ] It won't hurt you, I swear. It's just really sweet. I think you should have the last one.
Hell, yeah. [ There's a shrug. ] And I wouldn't be giving it to you if I wanted it. You give it to people you like, right? I don't know what else to do to make it up to you--about what I said before.
It's usually what? [ He wants to hear this. It almost sounds like it's important too. ] And I know I didn't have to. I thought it'd be something you'd like.
No. It's not that kinda candy. [ He pauses, rubs at the back of his neck. ] I mean. Maybe they have that down there, but this isn't it. You need me to prove it?
